Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hi! I’m Hailey. I am originally from NC (if you’ve heard me talk, you know). I am a teacher, mainly high school English although I’ve stepped outside of my comfort zone this year at junior high, a book and beach lovey, and a dog mom to my beagle, Copper.
How did you get interested in Crossfit?
I got interested in CrossFit honestly because I was looking for a change in my fitness routine. What I was doing wasn’t working for me, I played sports growing up and seeing friends do it and love it, I wanted to give it a try.
When your motivation is down, how do you find the drive to get up and come in?
Two things: progress and people. Progress motivates me more than ever because I’ve seen growth in myself with a lot of movements and the amount of weight I can do as well. I want to keep reaching new personal bests! Also, the people and our Cataclysm community (athletes, coaches) are so supportive and I’ve developed amazing friendships which help hold me accountable!

What would you say to someone that has never tried CrossFit and looking to get started? Any tips or Advice?
My advice to anyone thinking about trying CrossFit to jump in and try it! The community of people will welcome you in like none I’ve ever seen and when you start to become comfortable with the lingo and the movements, you will find that CrossFit can help you just as much mentally as it does physically as it has absolutely helped with my mindset and outlook, to do everything possible to be better! My confidence within myself has grown multitudes and I know that CrossFit has played a major role in that.
