Born in Jan, 1985. In the great city of Cleveland, Ohio. Took a welding class my last two years of high school, graduated in 2003. Joined the army in 2005 as a 13Bravo Cannon crewman, got out 8 years later. Then joined a Motorcycle Club (MC).
How did you get interested in Crossfit?
I used to workout/ run on my own. And I saw the box and people working together doing all kinds of different exercises. I also watched videos on YouTube and was impressed at their abilities.
When your motivation is down, how do find the drive to get up and come in?
Maybe it's the army or the MC but if I don't feel like going or working out I think about the other people working out that day and kind of feel like I'm not pulling my weight as part of the team. Plus the more days I miss between classes the more sore I'll be when I start back up.
What is your least favorite movement?
Anything that has me sitting in the front rack position for a long time. After two shoulder surgeries that left me with pins and plates in both shoulders its awkward and my flexibility is low.
What is your next goal that Crossfit Cataclysm can help you reach?
Reaching 200lbs, or 5 muscle ups done correctly.
What would you say to someone that has never tried Crossfit and is looking to get started? Tips, advice?
CrossFit can be made to match your level of fitness so there's no reason not to try it out. Research what Crossfit movements are meant to achieve vs. other styles of working out to get an idea of why they are beneficial. Best advice I can give is come to our Box to get the shit done right.
