I am a retired Army Nurse Corp Lieutenant Colonel (25 year veteran) who now works part time for a local nonprofit Pregnancy Resource Center.
How did you get interested in Crossfit?
I have always been active and learned about Crossfit in 2008 where I fell in love with Deadlifts and HiT training but was not able to be consistent until I retired from the Army in 2012.
When your motivation is down, how do find the drive to get up and come in?
Switching my workout to first thing in the mornings has prevented low motivation. Monday, Wednesday and Friday are my scheduled days and unless I am injured or out of town I rarely miss. It is just part of my routine now and I look forward to working out with my 5am crew.
What is your least favorite movement?
My least favorite movements are the ones I haven't mastered like Double unders, HSPU, Muscle ups and the Olympic lifts.
What is your next goal that Crossfit Cataclysm can help you reach?
I guess that is my goal, to get better at these weakness areas within my mobility and flexibility limitations.
What would you say to someone that has never tried Crossfit and is looking to get started? Tips, advice?
Don't be intimidated by the name CrossFit and give it a try. Start at your level of fitness, do the work and your strength and confidence will improve!
