-Born and raised in Highland Park, IL. Played soccer growing up was kind of a chubby kid. Spent my freshman year in Israel, I did insanity while I was there and that's when I started getting into fitness and working out.
How did you get interested in Crossfit?
-In August 2012 I started ROTC at Indiana University. My senior year, after taking an exercise science class with my ROTC strength and conditioning coach he suggested I join Hoosier Crossfit when I asked about learning the Olympic lifts. I joined right before the 2015 open, and have been in love ever since.
When your motivation is down, how do find the drive to get up and come in?
-When my motivation is down, I watch videos about games athletes and their work ethic. It reminds me how hard they work and therefore how hard I must work to continue to improve myself
What is your least favorite movement?
-My least favorite movement is the strict pull up, just because I'm terrible at it, but that's why I keep doing them, so I get better at them.
What is your next goal that Crossfit Cataclysm can help you reach?
-I have 3 goals I am going after right now Consistent ring muscle ups Complete the Crossfit open completely Rx and Compete in an amateur Oly Lifting meet and put up a 230kg total.
What would you say to someone that has never tried Crossfit and is looking to get started? Tips, advice?
-My advice for anyone new is ignore everything that has come from the news about Crossfit and just try it yourself. Maybe it is for you maybe it isn’t. You get out of Crossfit what you put into it. Just remember quality over quantity. Any gym that believes in that principle no matter what type of gym it is, is a good one
